What is Furniture Restoration?
Good question, there seems to be a little confusion about the whole subject but to get right to the point Furniture Restoration is not the same as furniture refinishing. Restoration entails understanding. understanding is one of the most important aspects of the process. The word Restore means to put back as it was in the beginning, however there is more to it than that because the natural processes brought about by age is a part of the artifact . So the equation is “original condition + the natural aging process- any physical damage or destructive processes = vintage restored furniture.
